  Founded in 1895, Sunbury Community Hospital is a 123-bed acute care general hospital which provides inpatient, long-term care, outpatient and emergency care services for residents of its primary service area of Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

Headquartered in the Nashville, Tennessee, Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CYH) is a leading operator of general acute care hospitals in non-urban communities throughout the country. Through its subsidiaries, the company currently owns, leases or operates 71 hospitals in 21 states, nine of which are in Pennsylvania. Its hospitals offer a broad range of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services.

Curtis Financial Group was engaged by Sunbury to assist the company and its Board of Trustees with strategic planning and evaluating Community Health System’s proposal to acquire the business and assets of the hospital. Curtis’ assembled a team of experienced health care service professionals to evaluate plans for the hospital and quickly prepare a comprehensive valuation analysis for the Board which would be provided to state hospital regulators to approve the transaction.
