The Company is a third generation family owned holding company with diverse operations and one of the largest employers in its community. The two major businesses are a full service contractor providing plant design, engineering, and construction services and a manufacturer of specialized industrial equipment.

Due to a cyclical downturn in one of its major businesses, the Company was facing capital constraints and reduced distributions to family members.

The complexity of the situation was compounded by the extensive involvement of a significant number of family members in performing and non-performing businesses. In addition, the President (and son of the founder) continued to exercise control over all operations of the largest business unit.

Curtis Financial was engaged to advise the Company regarding the valuation of its businesses under various scenarios, assess current market conditions for potential divestitures and to provide strategic alternatives.
