Its products provide wireless access to laptops, PDAs and other telemetric applications based on IS-95B, 1XEV DO, GPRS, CDMA2000, WLAN, and WCDMA air access protocols. GTRAN's DotSurfer(TM) wireless PC modem card family has been first to enable the world's fastest wireless data technologies based on 2.5G and 3G technologies enabling wireless dates rates at 64Kb/s to 2Mb/s.

GTRAN Wireless was a division of GTRAN Inc., which also had a Broadband Optoelectronic division. GTRAN Inc. spun off the Wireless Division to shareholders. Key investors included Goldman Sachs, Redwood Ventures, and Qualcomm Ventures.
